Tabbouleh is a Levantine vegetarian salad mostly made of chopped parsley, tomatoes, mint, and onion. It is often seasoned with olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.

Recipe One


One-Fourth cup of olive oil

One-Fourth cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice

Three large garlic cloves

One cup of bulgur

One cup of boiling water

One cup chopped tomatoes

Half cup of chopped parsley

Two large chopped green onions

Two tablespoons of chopped mint

Preparation Of Tabbouleh

Add oil, lemon juice, and garlic in a bowl and blend them.

Keep it aside for a few minutes. Then place the bulgur in a large bowl and add one cup of boiling water. Let bulgur soak the water for at least 15 minutes. Then add tomatoes, parsley, green onions, and mint into the bulgur. Further, add the oil mix into the mixture and blend. Season it with salt and pepper, and let it stand for thirty minutes. Your salad is ready to serve.

Recipe Two


Half cup of fine bulgur

Three tablespoons of olive oil

One cup of boiled water

Two cups of finely chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley

Half a cup of chopped mint

Two medium-sized tomatoes

A cucumber

Three tablespoons of fresh lemon juice

A pinch of salt

One-Fourth tablespoon of black pepper

Preparation Of Tabbouleh

In a heatproof bowl add bulgur and a tablespoon of oil, stir it together. Further, add boiling water into the bowl and cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Then let it stand for 15 minutes. Also, drain the excess liquid by pressing the bulgur.

Then transfer the bulgur into a bowl and add the remaining ingredients. Also, add some oil to stir the ingredients well. Your salad is ready to serve.

Recipe Three


Half a cup of bulgur wheat

One cup of boiled water

Three bunches of parsley

One pack of mint

Two tomatoes

One large cucumber

Three green onions

Six tablespoons of extra virgin oil

Three tablespoons of lemon juice

Half a tablespoon of kosher salt

Preparation Of Tabbouleh

Pour the boiling water over the bulgur wheat in a shallow bowl. Use a fork to stir the water into the wheat quickly, then set aside for 10 minutes. Further, fluff the wheat with a fork and let it rest in a refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.

Then remove the bulgur from the fridge and combine it with all the remaining ingredients. Also, drizzle some olive oil over it and toss well. Serve it cool or at room temperature.
